Volunteer Job Descriptions

Front Table and Door Monitor Team

Admission Mgr. — Sit at the main desk at the entrance and collect admission money from tournament attendees. Responsible for managing and safeguarding the
money box (i.e., it goes where you go) during tournament hours and covering for the
Admission Assistant when needed.  We will be using a hand stamp for single game fees
and paper wrist bands for tournament passes.

Admission Assistant — Same responsibilities as the Admission Mgr. for collecting
admission money during busy period. Also responsible for running the Tournament
Desk.  Will also be responsible for making sure the score keeper has the correct score sheet for
their game and getting all copies back afterward. They will then give one copy to each
manager and keep one for the tournament records.

---Both the Admission Mgr and Admission Assistant must know which Tournament
Director or Acting Tournament Director is on duty at all times and have a cell phone to
contact them if needed.

Door Monitors — A person is needed in each rink to monitor the open outside door at the
far end of the rink to inform anyone who tried to enter that this is a fee based tournament.
If you are a person who likes to stand by the glass at the end of the rink when you watch
a game this is the perfect job for you!!!!

Score Boxes - Team of Scorekeeper/Announcer, Time Keeper.

Scorekeeper/Announcer — Get the score sheet for your game from the Tournament Desk. During
warm ups have the officials review and count the players on each team. During the game sit in the game official’s booth and enter all information regarding goals, penalties (including time on and off), shots on goal, goalie changes, etc.  Announce goals and penalties over rink PA system. Make sure the refs and Coaches have approved and signed the score sheet before and after the game. Return all copies of the score sheet to the Tournament Desk.
The score sheet is pretty much self explanatory and we will have a sample score sheet and copy of the rules for each rink. Good time to learn how to score a game and watch how to run the clock if you have not done that before. If you have not done this before please let us know and we will put you with an experienced timekeeper.

Time Keeper — Responsible for running the game clock during a game. Usually very
simple (start the clock when the puck is dropped and stop it when the whistle blows)
unless there are a lot of penalties. Must know some basic rules of hockey and be able to enter penalties. Detailed directions for using the clock will be provided.
If you have never run the clock before I suggest you sign up to be a scorekeeper and
practice a game or two then go for it!!

If you are talented enough to do two of these jobs at once please sign up for both
jobs for that game!!!!

SCORE KEEPER AND TIME KEEPER NEED TO BE READY
TO GO TEN MINUTES PRIOR TO EACH GAME TIME!
